Wondering who creates the music that sets the mood on This Is Us? It’s Siddhartha Khosla, and he performed his original music from the show in a can’t-miss showcase.

On the road leading up to the 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, we have been treated to the cast of This Is Us making tons of appearances waxing poetic about their series (and dropping hints about Season 2 as well). You can never say the team behind the NBC breakout hit isn’t generous, especially as the series composer Siddhartha Khosla took the stage to perform his original This Is Us songs and score.

Introduced by first-time Emmy winner Chrissy Metz, Siddhartha Khosla showcased his compositions for This Is Us, including the acoustic score sure to make all superfans cry. (It doesn’t take much, does it?) After playing the series’ theme score complete with a backing band and string section, Khosla was joined on stage by musician Chris Pierce, who co-wrote the song “We Can Always Come Back To This” alongside Kholsa for This Is Us. Suddenly, memories of “Memphis” come rushing back, and we’re all drowning in a puddle of tears.

Khosla has also shared the stage with Mandy Moore to perform a cover of the song “Willin’,” which will be featured on the official This Is Us Season 1 soundtrack to be released in September. In this particular portion of Khosla’s performance posted on the Television Academy’s official Twitter account, the composer leaves all of the Pearson pride on stage and proves yet another heavyweight aspect of the impact and immense talent of This Is Us.
