What can you expect from the latest episode of This Is Us? Prepare to take a drive down memory lane in the Pearson family car.

Without giving fans a second to catch their breath after the devastating Super Bowl episode, This Is Us returns with another new episode. Yes, that’s two episodes for the price of on this week. While that’s great in theory, double the episodes means double the workout for our tear ducts. And if rumors are to believed, Tuesday’s new outing will be another doozy.

As if it couldn’t get much sadder than the loss of Jack Pearson in “Super Bowl Sunday,” the ratings beast and network TV wunderkind serves up another helping of emotion in “The Car.” Judging by the small glimpses of the highly anticipated follow-up episode in the preview clip, Rebecca and the Big Three will be attending Jack’s funeral. Simply put, no one’s ready for that.

For those curious as to what the future holds (well, the relatively distant future), the synopsis provided by NBC doesn’t give too much away:

"The history of the Pearsons as told through the life of the family car.More from This Is UsHow to watch This Is Us series finale tonight (May 24)How to watch This Is Us Season 6 Episode 17 live tonight (May 17)How to watch This Is Us Season 6 Episode 16 live tonight (May 10)How to watch This Is Us Season 6 Episode 15 live tonight (May 3)Who plays Sophie on This is Us?"

However, we can expect an episode likened to that of “The Best Washing Machine in the Whole World,” in which a home appliance sees the Pearson family through years of change and evolution. This time, it’s the family car that drives them from place to place and corner to corner of their colorful lives. The same car that once drove the Big Three home from the hospital will most likely be the same vehicle taking the family to Jack’s funeral. Oof.

Elsewhere in “The Car,” we can expect a return appearance from Emmy Award winner Gerald McRaney as Dr. K, the humble hero who delivered Kevin and Kate and inspired Jack to turn life’s sourest lemons into something resembling lemonade. Since Dr. K can relate to losing a spouse too soon, will he offer Rebecca the same grief counseling he gave to Jack?
