This Is Us releases first look photos of Beth-centered episode

This Is Us has released first look photos of the upcoming Beth-centered episode “Our Little Island Girl.”

We finally get our first look of the highly-anticipated and much talked-about Beth-centered episode of This Is Us and it’s about time. NBC has released two photos, the first of Beth sharing an intimate moment with her mother Carol (guest star Phylicia Rashas), and the second of Beth, Zoe, and Carol having a light-hearted moment at the dinner table. The episode – not titled “Bethany Clarke” as previously reported – centers around Beth and Zoe as they take a road trip to D.C. to visit Carol. The story will be told in a series of flashbacks as the two reminisce about old times and interchanged with flash-forwards incorporating Beth’s future history into the episode. So we get a lot of Beth in this episode, and hopefully some answers to some pretty pressing questions.

One of the most exciting things about this episode is the appearance of Phylicia Rashad as Beth’s mother. “I just thought, ‘Oh! This is going to be amazing,” Susan Kelechi Watson says. “One of the biggest comparisons I hear is how Beth reminds people of Claire Huxtable…. It almost feels like the only person it could be.” Gore Višnjić also appears in a recurring role as Beth’s teacher, which may have something to do with her future at the ballet studio.

Fans have been understandably impatient to hear news of this episode, not least of all because it should have aired already. This Is Us has been pushed back two weeks in a row due to scheduling issues with Trump’s State of the Union address and fans will still have to wait two more weeks before Beth’s episode finally does air. There is still one episode separating us from our favorite Pearson spouse, the second part of Songbird Road and the conclusion of Uncle Nicky’s arc. “Our Little Island Girl” is set to air February 19, unless Trump has anything else to say about it.
