Sterling K. Brown wants to work with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins

This Is Us Sterling K. Brown reveals that he would love to work with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, and really, who wouldn’t?

Sterling K. Brown, who plays Randall Pearson on the hit NBC drama This Is Us, spoke out about the need for more diversity behind the camera and mentioned Patty Jenkins specifically as a female director he would like to work with. “We need more diversity behind the camera and stories from a female perspective are the ones that I’m most intrigued by, so yeah, it’s easy for me to stand for that,” said Brown. When asked which female filmmakers he’d like to work with, Brown had a couple choices. “But the director of Wonder Woman, which was one of my favorite films of the year — that would be exciting.”

Since his breakout roles in American Crime Story, Black Panther, and This Is Us, the previously unknown actor Sterling K. Brown is currently in high demand. We’ll likely see his profile grow far beyond This Is Us in the coming years, in no small thanks to the opportunity and awards supplied by his role on the series. In fact, I think he will be the one cast member to break out into movie stardom status once This Is Us finishes its run, and some of his upcoming projects certainly supports my theory. He’s starring in the upcoming revenge thriller The Rhythm Section alongside Jude Law and Blake Lively, and in Frozen 2 alongside original cast members Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel – and both films are directed by women.

As for his chances of working with Patty Jenkins, I think they’re pretty high. Brown is already in the comic book movie community after his appearance in Black Panther and Jenkins was outspoken regarding her support of Black Panther as the first superhero movie nominated for a Best Picture Academy Award. How could a groundbreaking director not want to work with a groundbreaking actor who appeared in a groundbreaking film?
