This Is Us star Chrissy Metz recently appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show to discuss her career and what’s it like playing Kate Pearson. Plus, she reveals if she wants to be a mother after her experiences.

Chrissy Metz continues to promote her latest movie, Breakthrough, with new media appearances and interviews. On Thursday, she stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show to discuss fan interactions and to perform “I’m Standing With You.” We have those highlights here on ThisIsUsCrying.com. With that being said, here’s more coverage of her interview.

Clarkson and Metz started off discussing how Chrissy appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show‘s unaired pilot from over a year ago as Kelly’s first interview the day after Clarkson’s father died. After touching on their busy lives, Metz opened up about her worst haircut – a rat tail in fourth grade.

She went on to discuss her pre-This Is Us jobs, which included working in the back at McDonald’s before being a pre-school teacher for five years. Metz called her teaching experience “so much fun, but really challenging.” You can check out the full conversation in the video below:

The interview shifted to questions regarding Chrissy Metz portraying a new mother on This Is Us. Clarkson asked if being a mom on the show made her more eager or less eager to have children in real life, to which Metz responded with, “Less.” She revealed that it can be challenging to work with the seven-month-old baby on set because he legally can only work for “20 minutes at a time for two hours max.” Clarkson commended Metz and noted that she would make a great mother if she ever wanted to have kids.

Metz also stuck around for Iain Armitage’s appearance. The eleven-year-old Young Sheldon star explained to everyone that because he and Metz act as Mandy Moore’s children in their respective shows, they are like “TV half-siblings.” The two actors discussed how they first met and more of Armitage’s career in this clip:
