This Is Us continues to be talked about as award season grows closer. Find out which nominations the show received the nod for and which ones were snubbed.

As covered over the weekend, This Is Us received five nominations from the Critics’ Choice Awards. Since then, the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards have announced their 2020 nominations. Unfortunately, the noms aren’t as plentiful for our beloved show. In fact, This Is Us got snubbed altogether from the Golden Globes as Netflix dominated the film and television categories.

In years past, This Is Us received three Golden Globe nominations in 2017 and 2018 for the likes of Best Television Series – Drama, Best Actor (won by Sterling K. Brown) and Best Supporting Actress (Chrissy Metz and Mandy Moore.) It’s unfortunate that the aforementioned names weren’t nominated again this year, but luckily there’s other awards for the stars to focus on.

The good news is, Sterling K. Brown was nominated on Wednesday by the SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series. This is Brown’s third nomination after winning the award in 2018, the same year This Is Us won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. This year, Brown will be going up against the likes of Steve Carrell and Billy Crudup from The Morning Show, Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones, and David Harbour from Stranger Things.

In other good news, Eboni Freeman has been nominated by the Writers Guild of America Awards in the Episodic Drama category for writing “Our Little Island Girl” (Season 3, Episode 13), which heavily focused on Beth Pearson’s life and backstory. Season 1, Episode 9, “The Trip” previously won that same award in 2017, while Season 2, Episode 15, “The Car,” was nominated in 2019.
