This Is Us Season 4: The future of Kevin’s love life revealed?

The newest episode of This Is Us proved to be a roller coaster for Kevin Pearson. Here’s a breakdown of where his love life stands going forward.

After weeks of wondering if Kevin will ultimately end up with Sophie, we finally got our answer! Well, sort of. Kevin and Sophie are NOT back together just yet. With that being said, that door may have officially been closed for many reasons.

Memory lane

Kevin flew to Pittsburgh to attend Sophie’s mother’s funeral without telling her ahead of time. This was a pleasant surprise for Sophie as the two were able to reconnect and reminisce on their youthful days at Claire’s house and several other memorable spots around town. Sophie is still engaged to another man, which prevented Kevin from making any moves.

The trip down memory lane was filled with flashbacks, including a few from a night when toddler Kevin couldn’t sleep because he was scared. Jack had to convince him the scary sheep were gone from his room and Kevin eventually moved on. I believe that’s exactly why Kevin needed to go to Pittsburgh. He bid farewell to his second mother and found closure in his failed marriage with Sophie, so it looks as if this chapter has closed.

"“This place still makes me sad, but I’m not afraid of it anymore.” – Kevin"

Who was the woman in bed?

Before Kevin could head back home, he stopped by Kate and Toby’s house to find Madison dog-sitting while Toby was at work and Kate and Jack were at a retreat. As luck would have it, Kevin and Madison ended up in bed together after discussing how messy their love lives are. Madison was dumped by the fifth guy in a row, while Kevin always leaves people.

So, what does this mean going forward?

We still don’t know if Madison is Kevin’s future wife, but their sudden hook-up could be the start of the family Kevin’s been seeking. If the Sophie chapter is indeed closed, then it wouldn’t be too crazy if Kevin and Madison ended up together forever. Though, it will certainly complicate his relationship with Kate initially. And we can’t forget that Sophia Bush is bound to return at some point…
