Want a Cameo shout-out from Mandy Moore during your quarantine? You’re in luck as she’s joined Cameo to raise money for worthy causes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

This Is Us star Mandy Moore will be donating money raised from Cameo shout-outs to No Kid Hungry, a national campaign that provides nutrition programs to schools during the school year and summer months to help fight childhood hunger.

The campaign was launched in 2010 by the nonprofit organization Share Our Strength that works to end childhood hunger globally. According to the No Kid Hungry website, for every $1 donated, they invest that money into government programs to provide meals to 10 children.

With schools shut down all over the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 20 million students from low-income families that receive free or low-cost school meals during the school year and summer months may go unfed, especially because fewer meals are offered by government programs when school is not in session.

Moore is following in the footsteps of actress Busy Philipps, who will also be donating her Cameo proceeds to No Kid Hungry as well as World Central Kitchen. Moore’s This Is Us co-star Chris Sullivan has taken to fundraising for service-industry workers, e.g., restaurant owners, bartenders, etc. who have been affected by the pandemic as restaurants and bars have shut down per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommendation that people avoid gatherings of 50 people or more.

Moore announced her new Cameo profile on her Instagram story on Monday. Yesterday, she posted another video to thank all of her followers and report that they’d raised almost $9,000 for No Kid Hungry:

"“People are digging deep, and um, donating to a really, really incredible organization like No Kid Hungry. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.”"

It’s nice to see that Mama Pearson is here to spread some joy during this unsettling time.
