We can still get a little bit of romance during the scariest night of the year. There are plenty of horror movies out there that focus on love, usually in the most dangerous and questionable places.

If you’re into romantic horror movies, you’ll want to turn your attention to this list. Many of these movies are PG-13, so they’re even great for the teens in the house. It’s time for a bit of fun and “awws” in the middle of all the jump scares.

Lisa Frankenstein

Let’s start with the newest of the romantic horror movies out there. Kathryn Newton slays it as Lisa, a teenager who doesn’t fit in with everyone else. She loves all things gory and creepy, and it’s made her an outcast in many situations.

Well, there is one person out there for her. When a Victorian corpse comes back from the dead, the two head out on a journey of murder and mayhem as they find love and happiness together. This was 2024’s Valentine’s Day hit, so yes, it’s romantic.

Warm Bodies

We head back to 2013 for the next romantic horror to check out. Teresa Palmer and Nicholas Hoult star in Warm Bodies. Hoult plays R, a zombie who isn’t quite the flesh-eating monster that every other zombie out there is. When Palmer’s Julie is being attacked by his undead brethren, R fights against them to save her.

This movie reminds us that love can save a lot. As R and Julie get closer, R becomes more and more human. Is this the secret to saving humanity?

Let’s get into the rom-com genre of horror movies for this last one. While rated poorly by the critics, Life After Beth has become a cult classic. It’s perfect for the zombie fans out there.
