Does Simone even like Lucas in Grey's Anatomy?

Does anyone else feel like Grey's Anatomy is trying to force Lucas and Simone to work? That relationship is too one-sided.

I want to root for Simone and Lucas in Grey’s Anatomy. When Simone decided not to get married, there was a chance for the two of them. Now I have to question whether Simone even likes Lucas.

Something isn’t working between them. Lucas clearly likes Simone. You can tell in the way that he looks at her. Then there’s Simone, who has a blank look, and I can’t tell if that’s the acting or if that’s a sign that Simone just isn’t all that interested in Lucas without some sort of drama going on.

Simone will struggle if Lucas starts to succeed in Grey’s Anatomy

Lucas isn’t the smartest of the interns. He failed his first year and will have to repeat it. Surely as his girlfriend—because that is the term Lucas used—Simone would want Lucas to get a chance to succeed. And yet, when it came to the new type of kidney transplant, Simone was put off and jealous when Marsh asked specifically for Lucas.

Marsh has connected with Lucas from the start. There is a similarity between the two of them, and that means Marsh knows what Lucas is up against. I loved the pep talk in the third episode of season 21, where Marsh made it clear that doctors expect far too much of interns in one year. That intern year should be 18 months to two years.

Rather than supporting Lucas in his career, Simone got so jealous that she claimed he only gets special treatment because he’s a Shepherd, a name he doesn’t even push around the hospital. It was completely out of line.

It’s not even like this was a huge thing for the other interns. They all had their own tasks. While they may have mentioned the transplant here and there, they didn’t make a big deal about Lucas getting the opportunity to do it.

Simone doesn’t even seem into the relationship with Lucas

Then, at the end of the third episode, there was nothing there between Lucas and Simone. She brought up the fact that he said “girlfriend” at one point, and he got this cute glint in his eye. He clearly likes her, and Simone just had this deadpan face as if it meant nothing.

The only smile she had was when she started running with Lucas chasing her. Do we have a woman who gets bored quickly in relationships? It would track with her ex-fiancé, and now all I want is for Lucas to call her out on it. Someone needs to call her out on this lack of emotion.

Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 10/9c on ABC.
