16 romance movies and shows coming to Netflix in October 2024
While October might be the month of Halloween, Netflix recognizes that some of its subscriber base might want to watch something other than just horror movies and shows during this month. For example, something that has more of a lighter tone, like a romance movie or show.
With October nearing fast, the streaming giant has released its complete list of shows and movies slated to hit its platform soon. Of course, we've already taken a look at the list, and what we noticed right away, is that there is a lot of romantic content coming to Netflix next month.

Bridesmaids

While mainly classified as a comedy, Bridesmaids also has romantic elements to it, and that's why we decided to include it on the list. The story centers around Annie Walker, a young single woman whose life is a bit of a mess. She's financially strapped after losing her bakery and loveless after her boyfriend leaves her.
When her best friend Lillian announces her engagement to her longtime boyfriend and asks Annie to be her maid of honor, Annie eagerly accepts, not knowing that soon she'll find herself pitted against one of the bridesmaids who wants to take over the top spot of Lillian's best friend. The romance comes in when Annie meets a charming cop named Nathan Rhodes.
Couples Retreat

Couple's Retreat is a rom-com centering around four couples, all friends, who decide to go on a vacation to a tropical island resort. While one of the couples is there to work on their marriage, the other three couples hope to have a fun and relaxing getaway. But soon after their arrival, they discover that participation in the resort's couples therapy sessions is mandatory, not optional as they initially thought.
Love is Blind season 7

One of Netflix's most popular romance reality TV shows will be back with a brand new season this October. Love is Blind season 7 is set to premiere on Netflix on Oct. 2, and this time around, viewers are taken to Washington, D.C., where they will meet a bunch of hopeless romantics trying to find their perfect match and fall in love all before meeting in person. In addition, co-hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey are back to offer advice and support to the singles.
Blue Box
- Netflix release date: Oct. 3, 2024
Blue Box is a romance anime series based on the Japanese manga of the same name by Kouji Miura. It revolves around high school badminton player Taiki Inomata, who has a crush on Chinatsu Kano, an upperclasswoman and star player of the girls' high school basketball team.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Chinatsu ends up living with Taiki and his family. This gives Taiki the chance to get to know her better and hopefully develop their friendship into a romantic relationship.
Heartstopper season 3
- Netflix release date: Oct. 3, 2024
- Cast: Joe Locke, Kit Connor, William Gao, Yasmin Finney, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Tobie Donovan, Rhea Norwood
Heartstopper is one of the best romantic teen shows streaming on Netflix, and it's finally returning with its third season this October. In Heartstopper season 3, Charlie and Nick's relationship deepens even more, and they find themselves facing their biggest challenges yet. Charlie still struggles with an eating disorder, and Nick tries his best to be there for him.
Meanwhile, Elle has her own struggles with gender dysphoria as she and Tao try to take their relationship to the next level. The third season also continues to explore the rest of the friend group's lives as they grow and mature.
Deceitful Love

- Cast: Monica Guerritore and Giacomo Gianniotti
Deceitful Love is an upcoming Italian romantic drama series that will likely be a hit once it lands on Netflix. I mean, check out the trailer above and tell me you're not interested in watching this show when it comes out. If you're a fan of Grey's Anatomy, you'll be happy to know that Giacomo Gianniotti, who played the role of Dr. Andrew DeLuca in the medical drama series, stars in one of the leading roles in this show.
He plays Elia, a charming and attractive 30-year-old man who meets and falls in love with Gabriella, an elegant woman twice his age who owns a luxury hotel on the Amalfi Coast. Due to their huge age difference, Gabriella's three adult kids question Elia's true intentions for being with their mother. But will Gabriella listen to their concerns, seeing as she's already fallen too deep?
