All the romance titles leaving Netflix in October 2024
It’s almost time to bid September farewell to move on to October, and we’re looking forward to all the new releases coming to Netflix next month, especially the romantic content.
Unfortunately, we’ll also be saying goodbye to some movies and shows in October. That’s just how it goes every month. Luckily, no romance shows will be leaving the streamer, but several romance movies will depart.
Are you curious to know what those romance movies are? No worries! We shared their titles right below!
Crazy Rich Asians (2018)
- Netflix departure date: Oct. 6, 2024
- Last day to watch on Netflix: Oct. 5, 2024
Crazy Rich Asians was the highest-grossing romantic comedy of the 2010s, making $239 million against a $30 million budget. It also received widespread acclaim and praise for its authentic representation of Asian culture and for featuring an all-Asian cast in a major Hollywood film.
Based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Kevin Kwan, the story centers around a Chinese-American economics professor named Rachel Chu, who is invited by her boyfriend to accompany him to Singapore for the wedding of his best friend. But once she arrives, she is surprised to find out that her boyfriend's family is incredibly wealthy and one of the most prominent in Singapore.
Thrust into the lavish lifestyle of Singapore’s elite, Rachel finds herself facing various challenges, including her boyfriend's disapproving mother. Constance Wu stars in the leading role of Rachel Chu. The rest of the cast is made up of Henry Golding, Gemma Chan, Lisa Lu, Awkwafina, Ken Jeong, Michelle Yeoh, and more.
The romance films we're about to list now don't actually leave Netflix in October. They will depart the streamer on Nov. 1, but we decided to include them still because the last day to watch them on Netflix is Oct. 31.
Eat Pray Love (2010)
Another romance movie that was a box-office hit when it was released in theaters is Eat Pray Love. It stars Academy Award-winning actress Julia Roberts as a newly divorced woman who decides to reshape her life by embarking on a journey of self-discovery and healing. Her travels take her to Italy, India, and Bali. In Bali, she meets and falls in love with a Brazilian expatriate named Felipe (Javier Bardem).
The Wedding Planner (2001)
The Wedding Planner stars Jennifer Lopez as Mary, an ambitious wedding planner who has a chance encounter with a handsome pediatrician (Matthew McConaughey) when he saves her from a near-fatal collision. They share an amazing night together, and Mary thinks she's finally found the one. That's until she finds out that he's the fiancé of her wealthy and high-profile client.
Here are four other romance films departing Netflix on Nov. 1:
- La La Land (2016-musical romantic comedy-drama)
- Mr. Deeds (2002-romantic comedy)
- Save the Last Dance (2001-romantic drama)
- The Young Victoria (2009-romantic drama)
