Madelyn Cline and KJ Apa to star in Amazon romantic drama The Map That Leads to You

Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline and Riverdale's KJ Apa are set to play love interests in a new romantic drama for Amazon MGM Studios called The Map That Leads to You. We shared everything else we know about this upcoming film below.

The Map That Leads to You is based on the 2017 romance novel of the same by J. P. Monninger. Well-known novelist and screenwriter Nicholas Sparks praised the book, calling it "romantic and unforgettable." It's a book that explores themes of love, loss, and the search for identity. These are themes that can resonate with readers, especially young adults navigating similar experiences. Overall, if you enjoy heartfelt romantic stories, the The Map That Leads to You book will likely be a rewarding read. Hopefully, the film adaptation does it justice!

Swedish filmmaker Lasse Hallström, who is best known for directing the hit romantic dramas Dear John and Safe Haven, is signed on to helm the movie adaptation. Les Bohem (Shut Eye) and Vera Herbert (This is Us, Awkward) co-wrote the screenplay. In addition, Temple Hill Entertainment's Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Isaac Klausner, and John Fischer will produce.

The romantic drama follows a young woman who meets a mysterious stranger while vacationing in Europe on a post-grad trip with her friends. Sparks fly instantly, and the woman finds her life forever changed by this chance encounter. Cline will portray the young woman, while Apa will play the mysterious stranger.

Cline is best known for starring as Sarah Cameron in the hit Netflix teen series Outer Banks. She also had roles in the movies Boy Erased and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. She's set to star next in the I Know What You Did Last Summer legacy sequel for Sony.

Apa played the role of Archie Andrews in the popular teen series Riverdale. Some of his other roles were in the movies The Hate U Give, The Last Summer and One Fast Move. Besides The Map That Leads to You, Apa can be seen next in the upcoming films Let's Have Kids! and a Sublime biopic.

Joining Cline and Apa in the cast are other talented actors such as Sofia Wylie (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, The School for Good and Evil), Madison Thompson (Ozark), Orlando Norman (Eric, Tummy Monster) and Josh Lucas (Palm Royale, The Forever Purge).
