There were some great Station 19 characters introduced over the seven seasons of the series. We know that Ben Warren is heading back to the halls of Grey Sloan Memorial in Grey’s Anatomy season 21, and now eyes are on other characters.
There are some that we would love to see guest star in at least one episode of Grey’s Anatomy season 21. We even have some easy ways to make it possible. Here are six that would be perfect for a spot in an episode or two.
Carina DeLuca
One of the easiest characters to bring over to Grey’s Anatomy is Carina DeLuca. She did originally start off on the medical drama, before moving over to Station 19 to have a storyline with Maya Bishop. We’ve even seen her recur on Grey’s Anatomy since then because she still works at the hospital.
We would love to see her turn up, especially with Jo’s pregnancy storyline. Who better to deliver the baby and help Jo through any pregnancy complications than Carina? After all, Carina is Jo’s boss and someone she trusts.
Maya Bishop
With the door open for Carina to be back, we would love to see Maya Bishop step into the halls of Grey Sloan Memorial as well. We know that Maya remains in Seattle and has a happy life with Carina thanks to that ending to Station 19, so we need to see it all take place.
Since Maya is a firefighter, we could see her come in during a big event. Or maybe we could just see her dropping off lunch for her wife or coming in to say hi on her day off. We’ve seen it with other characters here and there, so why not Maya?
Jack Gibson
After Jack had to medically retire from the fire service, he ended up going into being a 911 dispatcher. It makes him a great character to bring into Grey’s Anatomy in some sort of way. Maybe he could be on the phone with someone as they come into the hospital, or maybe he could patch himself through to the hospital at some point.
There is also the option that he steps in to save the day. Wouldn’t it be great to see him saving a life as the gurney rolls into the Emergency Room?
Sean Beckett
I did not expect to like Sean Beckett as much as I did in Station 19. He had a wonderful storyline as he dealt with alcoholism and suicidal thoughts. It’s time to bring more of that to Grey’s Anatomy.
Sean has lost the person he could talk to the most. Vic went East, and that opens a door for Beckett needing someone else. Why not Amelia or Webber? Both of them have dealt with drug abuse and alcoholism, and we could see some great moments as they all work on being sober together.
Diane Lewis
One area of medicine that Grey’s Anatomy doesn’t focus on much is psychiatry. Is it time the series did? A Station 19 character would be great for that. We’re talking Diane Lewis. Okay, Tracie Thoms is also Karen on 911, which could make it difficult, but as a guest spot now and then, it would work.
We’ve seen Grey’s bring in a counselor every now and then for individuals in the past, but it’s been a long time since that happened. Now is a good time to change that. We could even have the doctors talking to her about the loss of patients the way that the firefighters did in Station 19.
Natasha Ross
Station 19 has always been like Grey’s, making it clear that women can be powerful in positions of authority. We got to see a lot of that with Andy in her push to become Captain of 19, but what about Natasha Ross? She ended up becoming the first female Chief, and we need to see more of her within the universe.
There are a few ways to bring Ross into the hospital. One of those could be a medical issue from a call. After all, she’s not afraid to jump into calls when needed. Another could be some sort of function. I could see Ross and Bailey having a great moment together considering they already know each other via Ben.
Grey’s Anatomy season 21 premiered on Thursday, Sept. 26 on ABC and will air new episodes each week.
