There are a few romance shows we’re looking forward to in 2025. The Summer I Turned Pretty is certainly one of them. The good news is that there are clear signs we’ll get The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 in 2025.
The season was confirmed back in summer 2023. This was during the strike, but the decision was officially made ahead of the strike action. Amazon knows that it has a good show with a lot of interest, and it needs to finish out the books.
Season 3 hasn’t been confirmed as the last season, but it probably is. After all, it’s set to follow the third book, and that is where Belly’s story ends. While Amazon could push for the series to continue, it doesn’t make sense—and honestly, I’d rather an ending than a series being dragged on.
When will The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 arrive on Prime Video?
As of right now, Amazon hasn’t confirmed when the third season will arrive. It hasn’t officially told us 2025.
The Direct shared that Jenny Han, author of the books and lead creative on the series, was the one to share the 2025 date. In an Instagram post, she said that we would get Christmas at Cousins Beach in summer 2025.
So, that tells us that we’ll likely get The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 between June and September 2025. This matches the releases of previous seasons, and the only reason we skipped 2024 was due to the writers and actors strike action throughout summer 2023.
What to expect in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3
We have some great news when it comes to the story. Han has also confirmed that we won’t get any filler episodes. This makes sense with eight episodes to the season. One of the benefits of these shorter episode counts is that we get a story straight through. Look at the 22-episode seasons of the past like Supernatural and Buffy the Vampire Slayer where there were filler episodes in between the seasonal arcs.
The third season will follow the third book in the trilogy, which sees Belly and Jeremiah together at college. However, things turn south when Belly learns that Jeremiah cheated on her. Will she end up sticking it through with him, or will her heart turn back to Conrad? Is Conrad even still interested in Belly, or is it too little too late?
