Is the Grey's Anatomy promo hinting a repeat storyline for Sophia Bush?
Sophia Bush is joining Grey’s Anatomy in a recurring role starting in season 21, episode 6. We get a hint of her storyline in the promo for the episode.
While Grey’s Anatomy is taking a night off for Halloween, we still get to know what to expect when the show returns. Teddy and Owen are struggling with their marriage, but they’re attempting a date night. When that goes wrong, we see Sophia Bush’s character step in.
It looks like the TV show is running out of ideas, though. The storyline looks to be something similar to One Tree Hill’s Hilarie Burton’s storyline from a few years ago.
Could Sophia Bush’s character break up Teddy and Owen in Grey’s Anatomy?
Bush’s character goes to Teddy at the restaurant bar to explain that she once faced problems in her marriage. The best option was to open it up.
This does seem like something Teddy would consider. After all, it’s not like she has remained faithful in the past. She cheated on Owen with Koracick, and yet Owen still married her! What’s to stop her from doing it again?
Maybe this time, she will talk to Owen about it first. However, I can’t see Owen wanting to open up the marriage, and this could lead to Teddy turning to Bush’s character anyway.
Is this a repeat of Hilarie Burton’s storyline in Grey’s Anatomy?
We’ve had One Tree Hill characters come in and cause problems in the past. The most notable was Hilarie Burton, who came in as Dr. Lauren Boswell for a few episodes in season 9. Lauren didn’t care that Arizona was married, and she encouraged Arizona to have a fling when her marriage to Callie was on the rocks. It led to Arizona having an affair, which at first she didn’t even regret. In the end, she regretted everything when Callie realized that she was better moving on.
Is it possible that the Grey’s Anatomy writers have run out of ideas, or do the storylines just seem similar on the surface of it all? It is possible that Bush’s character won’t encourage Teddy to have an affair if Owen isn’t into opening the marriage, but she is there should the two decide to try something new.
One thing that is certain is that Bush’s character is going to cause some sort of drama, and we’re here for it!
Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 10/9c on ABC. Catch up the following day on Hulu.
