Sasha Pieterse and Mitchell Slaggert star in new Lifetime holiday movie by Sarah Drew

Don't you just love a good Christmas romance movie? We sure do, and we're glad that Lifetime recognizes that there are many of us out there who enjoy these types of films. In fact, the TV Network just announced an upcoming holiday film titled A Carpenter Christmas Romance, and it stars some familiar faces.

Jake Helgren will direct A Carpenter Christmas Romance from a screenplay written by Sarah Drew. This isn't the first time these two creatives have worked together. They previously collaborated on another Lifetime holiday movie, A Cowboy Christmas Romance. Helgren also helmed other Christmas romance films such as The Holiday Proposal Plan and The Holiday Exchange, while Drew wrote the script for and starred in the 2022 Lifetime holiday movie Reindeer Games Homecoming.

Drew is best known for starring as Dr. April Kepner in the hit medical drama series Grey's Anatomy from 2009 to 2022. She also starred in the role of Sarah Brown in the short-lived Apple TV+ series Amber Brown. She not only penned the screenplay for A Carpenter Christmas Romance, but she's also signed on as an executive producer. Other executive producers include Eric Levin, Allie Dvorin, and John Turner. In addition, this film is produced by Helgren and Autumn Federici for The Ninth House in association with Apex Content Ventures.

The plot centers around Andrea, a bestselling author who temporarily relocates to her family's farmhouse in the small town of Wildwood to finish her new novel. But soon after her arrival, she runs into her former crush, Seth, an attractive carpenter. Will she feel that same romantic attraction she felt towards him in the past in the present?

"In the movie, when Andrea hints her upcoming book may be taking a heartbreaking turn, her fans begin protesting, demanding their favorite character doesn’t get killed off. Needing a haven where she can finish the novel, Andrea flees to her family’s farmhouse in the town of Wildwood. Much to her surprise, she ends up running into her ex-crush Seth, an artisanal woodworker who’s helping rebuild the town after it was nearly destroyed by a fire. It doesn’t take long for sawdust and sparks of romance to fill the air once the two team up and work together to reignite the town’s Christmas spirit. Is this romance just a holiday fling that ends when her trip is over, or can the two build a love that is made to last?"

Sasha Pieterse (Pretty Little Liars) and Mitchell Slaggert (The Sex Lives of College Girls) star in the leading roles of Andrea and Seth. Unfortunately, they're the only two actors who have been announced to be in the cast so far.
