Back in August 2020, Tia Mowry inked a three-picture deal with Lifetime where she would star in and produce three holiday movies for the network's It’s a Wonderful Lifetime slate. Two of the films included in the deal have already come out, and they are Yes, Chef! Christmas (2023) and Miracle in Motor City (2021). Her third and final movie in the deal with the network will be the upcoming A Very Merry Beauty Salon, which is part of Lifetime’s holiday movie slate this year.

A Very Merry Beauty Salon is a romance film directed by Bobby Yan (Deadly Entanglement, K-Love) from a script written by Tara Knight (The Night Before Christmas, Resident Evil). It stars Mowry as Sienna, a successful beauty salon owner in Atlanta who meets and falls in love with a charming CEO.

With the city's annual Tinsel Ball coming up, Sienna is busy preparing. She is to be honored at the Ball for her charitable work in the community, so it's a very special event. Unexpectedly, she meets Lawrence, a CEO whose family's wine company is co-sponsoring the Ball.

There's an instant romantic attraction between the two, but Sienna's mother, Georgia, who is also the person in charge of the Ball's committee, isn't for their blossoming romance at all. Sienna and Lawrence eventually find themselves paired up as dance partners, and their attraction to each other deepens into a steamy romance.

Joining Mowry in the cast as her romantic interest is RonReaco Lee. He portrays the role of Lawrence. They previously played love interests in the '90s sitcom Sister, Sister. In addition, Donna Biscoe (The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat, Saints & Sinners) takes on the role of Sienna's mother, Georgia. Cocoa Brown (The Big Door Prize) and Ashli Auguillard (All American) play the roles of Miss Kimmy and Ella, hairdressers at Sienna's beauty salon.

Besides Mowry, executive producers on this film include Adam Shepard, Larry Grimaldi, Hannah Pillemer, Fernando Szew, Richard Foster, Chet Fenster, Adam Griffin, and Mychael Chinn. In addition, it joins other Lifetime holiday movies that are slated to come out this year, such as The Holiday Junkie, Christmas in the Spotlight and A Carpenter Christmas Romance.
