Grey's Anatomy season 21 currently has six official couples and a few will-they-won't-they relationships. Looking at the official couples, here's a look at which ones are likely to thrive.

There are six official couples in Grey’s Anatomy season 21 currently on our screens. We’re not counting Levi and James as they have gone off to Texas, and we’re not counting the sort-of couples right now. There are six couples officially making a go of things and out in the open.

Not all of them are likely to make it to the end of season 21. Let’s take a look at the six in order of those likely to break up and those likely to make it to the end of the season (and potentially beyond).

As mentioned, this isn’t about the will-they-won’t-they couples. Don’t expect to see Winston and Beltran, Amelia and Beltran, or Blue and his ex-fiancee on the list despite some recent storylines.

GREY’S ANATOMY - “Here Comes the Sun” – As the city of Seattle revels at the Phoenix Fair celebrating the city’s rebirth post-COVID, the Grey Sloan doctors treat a patient who encounters illegal fireworks. Meanwhile, Bailey has her sights set on hiring new doctors, but she’s having trouble finding viable options. Owen and Teddy attempt to take the next step in their engagement, and Meredith has a surprising opportunity when she meets a dynamic doctor from her mother‘s past on the season premiere /

Teddy and Owen are sure to break up

Let’s start with a couple that just needs to break up at this point. Honestly, Owen should never have married Teddy once he found out she cheated. How can you trust someone after that? He told Cass that he trusts his wife, but he really doesn’t.

On top of that, Owen overreacts in situations and Teddy doesn’t read the room well. The two were so much better as friends. They can certainly support each other at work, but not at home. So, I don’t see this couple working out at the end of Grey’s Anatomy season 21. I don’t think Sophia Bush’s Cass will come in and cause problems intentionally, but she is also wouldn’t say no to Teddy.

GREYÕS ANATOMY - ÒLove DonÕt Cost a ThingÓ - A ghost from SimoneÕs past arrives just in time for Mika and LucasÕ epic house party. Jules and Blue watch Maggie risk it all on a special case, while Jo and Link help a woman through a stressful labor. THURSDAY, MARCH 9 (9:00-10:01 p.m. EST), on ABC. Simone and Lucas could potentially make it

Since their introductions, there’s been something between Simone and Lucas. I just think Lucas likes Simone more than Simone likes Lucas. Sure, Simone was the first one to say “I love you,” but that scene on the bench outside the hospital still stands out to me. She doesn’t seem to even like the guy!

However, I don’t think we’ve really had a chance to see them properly as a couple. They were having fun for a while, and then Simone’s fiancé turned up and changed everything. Simone wants everything her way or the highway, and the two don’t work together well when Simone thinks that Lucas is getting special treatment.

There is a lot working against them. At least it’s not a third person and they don’t have seasons of baggage to contend with.

GREYÕS ANATOMY - ÒI Can See Clearly NowÓ - Simone and Lucas work to balance their relationship while competing to assist on an awake kidney transplant. Teddy offers Amelia a new opportunity, and Ben's interview doesn't go as planned. MeredithÕs secret causes tension with Richard. THURSDAY, OCT. 10 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT) on ABC. Jo and Link are on the fence

I want to see Jo and Link make it work. Maybe they can should then end up actually talking to each other. The problem is they’re taking each other for granted, and they’re not actually talking to each other to get over the hump they’re currently facing.

I’ve said that friends don’t always make the best partners. That was the case for Teddy and Owen. However, sometimes they can make the best partners, and that’s the case for Link and Jo. You see, Link should have understood Jo’s feelings, but he’s so in his own thoughts that he couldn’t objectively look at what Jo was telling him. And now Jo is sure to shut down and not tell Link anything else.

Maybe the grocery story shooting and Jo bleeding will lead to Link and Jo actually talking to each other. This could be a blessing in disguise.

GREYÕS ANATOMY - ÒWedding Bell Blues/Happily Ever AfterÓ - SimoneÕs wedding day arrives as Jo and LinkÕs relationship hits a major turning point. Meanwhile, the attending surgeons fly to Boston, forcing a reunion between Nick and Meredith. Bailey gets a big surprise. THURSDAY, MAY 18 (9:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. Meredith and Nick are likely to make it

We don’t see much of the two on Grey’s Anatomy season 21. That could actually be a good thing for their relationship. What we have seen has been positive for the two of them.

For the longest time, Meredith didn’t open up to people. Nick made it clear what he needed and wanted from her. At first, she wasn’t receptive to it, but she realized that she needed to give the relationship a chance. The only way to do that was to admit that Nick was right about some of her faults. We’ve seen her make some changes for Nick, and that’s a great thing for the future of their relationship.

I think these two will make it to the end of Grey’s Anatomy season 21, and I think not seeing them much helps with that.

GREYÕS ANATOMY - ÒShould I Stay or Should I GoÓ Ð Bailey faces an unhappy Catherine who is facing audits for several of her Foundation hospitals. Meanwhile, Addison is back at Grey Sloan; tensions rise between Meredith and Richard, and Owen returns to work on a new episode of ÒGreyÕs Anatomy,Ó THURSDAY, MAY 5 (9:00-10:01 p.m. EDT), on ABC. Catherine and Webber are sure to make it to the end (if Catherine lives)

As much as I hate Catherine, she and Webber do have a strong relationship. I can joke around the Webber’s true love is the hospital, but he has stuck by Catherine through a lot. And she is not an easy woman to be around. The two can end up fighting like crazy, but they always end up loving each other and that’s a great start for a good relationship.

Webber wasn’t angry that Catherine lied to him about her health diagnosis. He was angry at Meredith, even though Catherine is the one who was in the wrong. The truth is, Webber is scared of losing another love. I think these two will make it until Catherine’s death, which Grey’s Anatomy seems to be hinting could happen.

Bailey and Ben are the strongest couple on Grey’s Anatomy

Finally, it’s all about Bailey and Ben. The two have been through so much over the course of the seasons of both Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19. They do lock heads from time to time, but one thing this show has given us, is the way the two communicate. They don’t always agree, but they find a way to love each other even when problems arise.

We have a couple who wants to make the world a better place. They want to give children loving homes, and they want to support everyone around them. Ben went into a marriage with Bailey knowing that children with her may not happen, but he took on the role of stepfather like a pro. Now the two have three amazing kids in their house, and even when they’re just passing each other, they will uplift, support, and love one another.

If Bailey and Ben don’t make it through Grey’s Anatomy season 21, I’d be floored. I’d also be super angry at the show because this is what successful marriages are made of and we need to see them happen on our screens!
